Dear Boise Hempfest Organizers, Idaho Family Policy Center, and our Idaho,
As both Co-Founder of Boise Hempfest and a candidate for Idaho State Representative in District 6, Seat A, I want to address the importance of maintaining a respectful and balanced dialogue on the topic of cannabis legalization and its cultural impact on our state.
Boise Hempfest has long been a space where advocates for personal freedom gather to voice their beliefs on this complex issue. At the same time, organizations like the Idaho Family Policy Center express legitimate concerns about the potential societal and public health effects of drug legalization.
Both perspectives deserve thoughtful consideration and a forum for respectful conversation. As a candidate deeply invested in the future of District 6 and Idaho as a whole, I stand with the values of personal freedom, responsibility, and community well-being. While events like Boise Hempfest highlight a cultural divide on the issue of cannabis legalization, it’s critical to approach this topic with both compassion and evidence.
My campaign emphasizes informed decision-making that honors both the personal liberties of Idahoans and the preservation of our state's social fabric. I believe in finding a balanced approach that protects individual rights while also addressing the concerns outlined by organizations such as the Idaho Family Policy Center. We must carefully consider the long-term impacts of any potential drug legalization on public health, safety, and our communities.
My goal is to represent all constituents, ensuring that policies reflect the values of freedom, but are also grounded in a deep understanding of the societal consequences.
I invite an ongoing, respectful conversation on this and other issues facing Idaho, fostering a political culture that listens to all voices while prioritizing the future well-being of our families, economy, and communities. In District 6, it’s not about drawing lines between different perspectives, it’s about finding common ground and charting a path forward that works for everyone.
With gratitude, Ryan Wayne Augusta

Greetings Titus,
It has been since 2009 waiting for this email; maybe a phone call would fall short to accommodate each other at this time.
Let us schedule something more formal and less spontaneous. I am no longer serving on the board of directors of Boise Hempfest and cannot legally represent their efforts.
However, as the founder, I do have their ear and they do have my empathy.
With all do respect, I reached out for compassion…
